It’s Wednesday and it’s that crazy time between the dead of winter with cabin fever and the hope of spring. Just the other day I realized at 5:30pm I could still see light in the sky! Spring hope and a little silver lining to take us out of the winter doldrums!

Sauvignon Blanc

I was given this wine by Beverage Trade Network to try out and review. Typically, I don’t pick up white wines, but when given a wine with a name like Silver Lining, how could you go wrong? So chilled it and opened it (it’s a screw cap) I did!
I love this wine … and that’s saying a lot coming from a red wine drinker. This wine has a lot of flavors rolling around into it. It was better to me the second day, the first day gave me a little bite to it — but on the second day … ohhh la la! It’s full of flavors like passionfruit, gooseberry and nectarine! It’s a bit on the dry side … but nothing that will make you wish for extra glasses of water!
This wine gave me hope of spring for sure … I know this wine will taste so great with a nice crisp salad. Nova Wine Group recommends having this as an aperitif or paired with seafood. I did drink this wine on it’s own … but I appreciated it much more with my salad!
So, I’m curious … are you a fan of Australian / New Zealand wines? This was my first … barring the Yellow Tail brand. Curious on your thoughts! Share them with me in the comments below!
