I was told I need to try more Sangiovese wines… so I did!

My last review of a Sangiovese was from a winery that was very well known in Italy and I swear it was a picture out of the movie “Dallas” or something. The wine was good and so is this one.

This is a dry wine but it’s got some nice flavors! Out of the 2 wines I’ve tried, this one is easily my favorite so far. It’s got a nice berry taste, but dry. This wine is mostly Sangiovese but also has some Merlot in it. Pastas and Meat are the dishes to try with this one. OH.. and I love the fact that they use real cork corks! The corks have the date of bottling on them … love that touch!

The other thing this winery has going for it is that you can stay on their property should you be traveling to Italy. This property is beautiful. I can see myself sitting in the hills of Tuscany, sampling wine, eating food from the chefs of this winery …. that’s a dream vacation! Check out their property site Riserva di Fiaazno and be sitting down. Gorgeous! The rates to stay at this place are not that bad.

So since with this economy, a trip to Italy will not be in my immediate future – I will definately be picking up this wine and at least thinking about a stay at this winery while sampling their wines.

Cheers to Rubizzo!
