Today for you, which is actually yesterday for me, because I write my posts a day before posting. I went in search of my wine to review. I looked. I touched. I read a few bottles. I waved at the security cameras. And then…. there it was …. the bottle behind the store support column. The place that not everyone can see. The place no one would ever think to look for a bottle of wine. The place a company paid to place their product like you paid for the discount tickets with an obstructed view at the rock concert.

I thought I found my treasure.

I opened the screw cap. Yes, I said it. This wine only cost me $7.99 and it has a screw cap. I poured. I tasted. I hated.
It’s like a watery wine. No real taste. The bottle claims it’s a full bodied fruity wine. It is … it’s like strong fruit punch. Or maybe just like spiked fruit punch, I don’t know I of course was a perfect child growing up… I never spiked my fruit punch. But if I did, I would imagine it probably tasted just like this wine.
The company / bottle also says that “this judicious blend of Grenache, Syrah and Cinsault grapes ….” really?? Judiscious?
Save your $8 bucks …. go for another wine. Sadly, this is not the “treasure” I had hoped I found hidden behind that column at the store. Sadly, I found out, it was there and hidden for a reason. Of course … it was only $8.
Cheers to store discount sections!

Actually I think this is a very nice everyday wine for $8 a bottle. It’s the opposite of gloppy Australian Shiraz and in the tradition European tradition of simple, but refreshing wines for daily meals. To me it is not thin, it’s just not a high alcohol fruit bomb. Give me this wine over Yellow Tail any day.
Interesting! Now, I’ve got to find a bottle and see how it is for myself! Love your viewpoint!

Craig …
I am with you on the Yellow Tail comment … there is a reason why I haven’t even talked about it on this blog. It’s a pass for me! Maybe on this wine my expectations were too high. But again … as always … it’s just my opinion! Thanks for stopping by!
Matt.. Let me know what you think!!
