I just can’t help it … I HAVE to pick up those wines with the catchy names and phrases. I think it might be a addiction of some sort. Not sure – check back and I’ll let you know.

Today’s wine is:
Goats do Roam
Fairview Wines
White 2009
South Africa
So, how many of you just sat down because you know I’m actually reviewing a white wine. In fact, it’s even called white wine. Could that be any indication of the skill level this wine company knows of their demographics? (namely people like me buying catchy wine name wines!) I know there is a boxed wine stigma out there …. I don’t care .. be a rebel – the right boxed wines rock. Catchy named wines???? they rock too and this is no exception!
The thing is, this winery isn’t calling their wine with a catchy name ….. they are calling it a descriptive name because goats do ACTUALLY roam around this farm/vineyard! Fairview Farms are the producers of this wine and they have a bunch of things going on! They have an on-site eatery (called The Goatshed) and they are well known for their cheese. …. Get it …. Goats …. Cheeses!??! I know… you can thank me later! The Fairfield Farm has been around since 1693 and their wine making dates back to 1699 impressive.
This white wine is a blend of Viognier, Genache Blanc and Roussanne and has a tart crisp flavor to it. It’s great white wine that even I like! I’m looking forward to this wine in the summer. Chilled and served with a great ceaser salad…. I’ll be in wine heaven for sure! For about $9.99 / bottle … it works for me!
So go ahead, be a rebel, look at the wines you may not think are good because of the price and pick this one up! I know you’ll enjoy it…. and that’s coming from a red wine drinker!
Cheers to white wine!
