Dear British English Daniel Hyphen Garmin:
We need to talk. You’ve been by my side for the last 5 years, faithfully guiding me through the directions of automobile travels. I appreciate your patience with me in my missed turns, not knowing my left from my right and all round not listening to your instructions.
There were times when I doubted you. Like the time in Arkansas when you told me there was a road going up some mountain in the Ozarks – only to find out it was a dilapidated historical cow trail. I don’t think the cows even use it. But you adapted well and “RE-calculated” our way down the mountain.
I wish you had the ability to guide me to great parking spots in downtown situations. Also helpful would be to guide me around areas of cities that scare me. Remember the time that guy jumped out to sell me his oranges… that’s a common practice in that side of town. I really wish you had had a “skip the orange sellers” section of town. But you don’t.
It’s at this time I would like to apologize when I disconnected you and switched over to Spanish Javier ….. it wasn’t the same. I longed for your “Make a U-turn” voice …. “haga un giro de 180 grados” just wasn’t the same.

As with age … you are a little bulkier then new models, but I don’t care …. you are dependable, reliable and can navigate just as well as the younger models.
It’s with a heavy heart that I tell you that while I appreciate you ….. I’ve become too dependent on you. We need some time apart. I may have to use google maps to help me cope, but I’ll be thinking of you ……my British English Daniel Hyphen Garmin!
All my best,
Jennifer
