Yep, you KNEW I would search out and find yet another box wine didn’t you? ahhh… I try not to disappoint.
Today’s Wine Wednesday is:
Bota Box 3L Box Wine
Cabernet Sauvignon
Shiraz
Old Vine Zinfandel
Well, you may have notice I listed 3 types of wine with today’s Wine Wednesday. That’s because in the midst of my writer’s block a few weeks ago and the holiday’s ….. I’ve tried all 3!
While the wines are good and I really did like the Old Vine Zin … it is hard to get away from that “boxed wine” stigma. Just because a wine is in a box, doesn’t make it cheap – this is one wine that I would say makes a good choice for a budget, every day wine.
AND …..
THIS box is 100% recyclable. Seriously, the whole thing; it’s a Green Box to boot! The box is bound together with cornstarch instead of glue, the inks used are soy based and the inside bag does not contain phthalate plasticizers or Bisphenol-A (BPA).
SOOOOOO…. you can totally thank me now for helping you find a wine that you can drink with a clear (or in this case green) conscience! You are actually doing the evnrionment some good by drinking this wine! Price on this is about $19 – although over the holiday’s I found it locally for around $17. How many bottles of wine are equal to this box??? Answer: 4 -750ml of wine!
As I said earlier — my favorite so far is the Old Vine Zinfandel – it carries a dark cherry flavor and my favorite … a hint of chocolate!

Bota Box wine sounds like it offers quite the bang for your buck! I enjoy anything that improves the quality of my wine drinking experience–such as affordability and ecofriendliness–and can’t wait to try Bota Box!
I couldn’t get over how I was enjoying the taste of this zinfandel! At 18 bucks a box (cheaper than Black Box which I buy all the time) I thought, “I”ll check the net to see what anyone says about it.” Pleasesd to find lots of rave reviews including this website, especially of the Olde Vine Zin…I also appreciate the kick @ 14%! I will buy again soon!
