Tech Thursday – TweetMiner an App on Crack!

I’m always on the scout for twitter apps that help me. There are a ton of them out there! It seems most of them are missing just one thing that I need – yet the other app has the missing item. I never wanted to have 2 different applications to use for twitter! I did however just come across this one from one of my twitter followers, Thomas clifford. The application is called Tweetminer. (affiliate link) I was intrigued and took a free look. I’m impressed, in fact so impressed that I decided to became an affiliate.

Already you know I love this application or I wouldn’t have chosen to become an affiliate … but what I think is so cool is the fact that I’m always searching for articles to tweet and share with my followers… this application aggregates feeds from news sources using keywords you select. Example: I love to “tweet” about wine information. I created a keyword search of news articles/feeds to show me any post that utilizes the the word “Wine”. When I find an article I like … one click and it’s in my new tweet to send off to my followers!

The info search is now in my application and once set up… I just have to click it and it’s refreshed with new stories/blogs utilizing my keyword. No more windows to open, google / yahoo searches, etc. It’s frickin’ awesome!

It looks like it has the capability to add more then one account … I haven’t gotten to that yet, but that is another huge advantage. Add that to multiple keyword news sources for easy information to your followers???…. it makes life a little easier!

The other item I love … scheduled tweets WITH rolling tweets. I have over 6500 followers on my Jennifer’s Review twitter account. Everyone is in different time zones and on twitter at different times. If I post a link to my twitter account only once … people miss it if they come on later. With the rolling tweet option … I can generically schedule a tweet every x amount of min. or specifically set dates and times. Yes, … loving it even more.

While I do like Social oomph … I have a hard time paying the $30/month for it… I’m not up to “twitter crack-ess” status yet. TweetMiner has different monthly prices to fit what you are doing right now. As you grow … you can upgrade to another account. For me … I’ll be doing the $60/year one. Or I may just stay and use the free account for a bit to learn it more.
