I really don’t know what to write about today because this week is so busy for me and right now I’m not really sure where my cell phone is. I’m also not really sure at this moment I really CARE where it is.
Which brings me to the “office pot luck” experience. By show of hands … how many of you out there work at an office that is doing a Holiday Pot Luck this year? Yep. That’s 3 of my 5 blog subscribers. Cool!
The thing is, I don’t cook, bake or attempt to mix anything more then 3 ingredients together. It’s not that I can’t cook …. it’s that I DON’T cook. Or maybe I just don’t choose to cook. Either way, it’s not happening on this girl’s watch. Even to the encouragement of office co-workers. To which I say …. “You really will need to have luck when something’s made in my pot.” Pretty clever I know. Feel free to use that for yourself anytime.
So tonight, after work I headed out to Sam’s Club. I had to go, the Pot Luck is tomorrow, which is actually today since I’m typing this yesterday. Yes, that sentence makes sense … you’ll have to read it a few times and slowly.
Off to Sam’s Club I went. Initially, I was just going to bring a cheese and sausage platter. However, I did cave in to co-worker pressure and upgraded to bringing turkey / chicken sandwichs. See, that’s me, choices. And even though I don’t cook I put a lot of thought into the pre-made things I bring. And I go to Sam’s club which means I have some big-ass bottles of condiments and enough deli meat to feed a few office pot lucks. Like I said, it’s all about choices.
I worried about the buns, I worried about the type of meat choices….. too bad I didn’t win anything at that meat raffle Sunday. I’m not bitter or anything…. I mean after all…. EVERYONE around me won but me.
Back to the choices… I think I did pretty good and true to my saying …. you can’t leave Sam’s Club under $100, I didn’t. And no, you just can’t.
Tomorrow morning, I have a 7 frickin’ 30 meeting to make which is showcasing my competitor. I’m going to need a lot of coffee tomorrow….. which is today for you because along with being a non-cooker, I’m a non-morninger too.
But I’m looking forward to the office holiday pot luck tomorrow, which is today! I work with a great group of people. Pictures will be posted on my twitter account!
Got any office pot luck pictures to share????? …. post them here!
Cheers to turkey sandwichs!
Jennifer
