Project Runway is totally going to steal my idea!

I am a complete Project Runway addict. I’m not one of those “Heidi!!” screaming, stalking Tim fans …. I just really love watching Project Runway. There is a sortof chemistry there and a real desire to see unknown designers succeed. I love it…. I love it on so many levels. I do have to say one thing about this last season – and it’s a complete personal thing…. Who did Chris Straub sleep with to even get to Episode 12? Seriously, was he someone’s relative? Every time he made it over others into the next challange, I was just disgusted the rest of the week. ugh …

Anyway… today I broke my purse. I know. How does one exactly break their purse. Easy, with the down economy I had to buy a purse from Marshalls. It was faux designer. It broke.

So, since I just purchased it, I refuse to just send it off into the trash or into my “maybe one day I’ll fix it” pile. I’m Oprah-izing and conforming to a simpler life. (I think I just coined THAT phrase too … Oprah-izing … right here…. right now … me.)

I think there should be a designer “fix” challange. Here’s my designer fix challange on my purse.

Here’s the base look …. a broken purse with a wine cork in it. Yes, I save wine corks and occasionally I do have them in my purse. deal with it.

Your Challange Designer Jennifer …. fix this purse into an ultra chic wearable faux designer look….. you have 10 min. Go!

This is probably something Chris would come up with and the judges would go .. hmmmmm… a …. rubber purse. and send him onto the next challange!

At this point Tim would say … “Jennifer, talk to me.” and I would say “I dunnnnnooooo Tim …… I got my inspiration from my last post and FreeGeek.org. It really inspired me.” and Tim would shake his head ” make it work.”
tape

Then I might go with the simple and subtle “twisty” look

twisty purse

But here I think is the winning look …. clip fix purse. It not only blends into the purse well … but it’s usable too! Challange complete … I’m the winner!!!
clip

and I’m sure you appreciate my strategic product placement in the “functionality” portion of the winning look!

Ahhh… I can see I’m just that much closer to my future in fashion design …..

So there you have it … I fixed my purse ….. but go ahead and leave your vote in the comment selection below .. What is YOUR favorite winning look?

Cheers to broke purses!

Extra Note: I googled Oprah-izing … I wasn’t the first… in fact someone came up with Oprah-ization! well played my word friend …. well played…..

I vote for the tape because it would make you bond with geeky people with tape on their glasses!!!

glad to see frosty paws on your shopping list. that is one strong binder.

On your issue with Chris sleeping his way up… I have never watched the show, but am betting that it is like all other shows like it and have to keep someone on the show for the viewer to hate. Makes it more interesting when there is someone you want to see get the axe and be disappointed when they don’t. in other words, purely ratings.

I would go with a combo of the rubber band and binder clip. good look, then I don’t carry one of those things. ;)

I agree, Chris was consistently awful, but each week one of the other contestants was slightly more awful than him. To be fair, in the outset Chris was one of the better designers, he just ran out of ideas…..
