Seriously, you can’t do that. Now that twitter has that new Beta testing thing that only half of twitterdom gets to try that we can’t talk about…. I’ve been trying to engage a little more on twitter and play with that beta thingy we can’t talk about.
With that…. I decided to start a list (if you don’t have a list feature on twitter yet … you didn’t hear anything about that from me). This list that I’m going to create is the coveted list of all coveted lists. My list would list you if you read my blog. Genius, I know. but with all genius ideas, you have to have a twitter hash tag (#ThisIsAHashTag)
So then I thought – what would be a descriptive hash tag to use? So I came up with #pplwhoreadmyblog. Which I thought was pretty good. until I looked at it and saw the naughty word in it. Go ahead … go back and look …. I’ll wait. …………………… Not seeing it? Let’s try it again… #PPLwhoreADMYBLOG
… see what I mean?
But I still really liked the idea. So, how can I change the naughty-no-no word issue? I then came up with #pplwho-readmyblog. But here’s the thing… I did that.. and because of the dash … it only picked up as a clickable link #pplwho. It never even acknowledged the -readmyblog part. That was a pretty important part of the #pplwho-readmyblog hash tag!! Obviously, that isn’t going to work… I needed the list to be PPL-who-read-my-blog.
But then I thought … wait a minute … this could be kind of a cool thing!!! I could start a whole new trend!!! #pplwho …. and then finish the sentence! I could be the next twitter trending topic!
#pplwho need to stay to the right when driving slow!
#pplwho should never wear hot pink socks and brown shoes
#pplwho drink cheap wine
It’s a total twitter trending topic! So …. if you’d read my blog – connect with me on my twitter account and I’ll add you to my #pplwho-readmyblog list.
If you think the #pplwho idea rocks …. start the hash tag!
Cheers to #hash!
Jennifer

Cute. I would have missed the naughty word on first pass.
As for the tags with dashes, I’m not sureI think the dash being a break is a bad thing, but it does put some limits on hashtags.
For my lists, dashes seem to work great.
In either case, this brightened my mood this morning.
Aww… glad I could make you smile Todd! yes, the dashes work ok in list names — but don’t work for hashtags. boogers…
