Sustainable Jesus Shoes and Wine!

by Jennifer Stinnett on August 23, 2009

Okay …. some of you may have a problem with my title….. so since today is Sunday I thought it appropriate to talk about this fun item. As you all know I love wine and I love shoes, so when there is a chance to have both topics done at the same time – I’m all for it. Wondering what Jesus shoes, sustainability and wine have in common?

Check out my latest purchase. When I first came across this site, it was summer and my mind was on nothing but comfortable sandals and hot summer days. BUT …. I live in Wisconsin so I’ll have to settle for the comfortable sandals. Enter…. The Nomadic State of Mind JC Sandals!

As you can see from the picture, these are truly unique sandals…. but before getting them, I was a little concerned about the feel of the rope and bare skin. Well.. worry no more, because these truly are a comfortable pair of shoes! I felt like I was wearing slippers. I tried these shoes out on a few different occasions … and yep…. I felt like I was wearting slippers in public. I went grocery shopping….. and be warned … with out the sandals with the sole on them, these puppies are a tad slippery on grocery store floor surfaces. Did I get any looks???? …. not so much – apparently no one cared what I had on my feet.

I then went to a BBQ, no one said a word, but I caught a few people looking. I think I will wear these sandals anytime I want to relax and get back to my “center”. If I were to wear them out in public – I would recommend the JC shoes with soles (pictured on the left)…. those will be a bit better for you. As far as looks … ladies, I will say…. these are not the most feminine looking shoes …. just a tip.

If you are interested in purchasing pair ….. I think you’ll enjoy them and it may bring you to your Nomadic State of Mind… whatever that may be.

Sustainability …. this company is dedicated to being a positive impact on the environment; here is their thoughts from their site:

It was our desire to create a product where there was virtually no waste- almost there – about 85% of our waste can be recycled into other products. When we introduce new products, or friends products we attempt to evaluate environmental impact, energy conservation, and fun!

Now for the wine …… well….. I did do this review with a glass of wine ……. and I was partaking of Red Truck Winery’s Mini-Barrel with this review. The second tie-in for wine…. (it’s a groaner…..)..well… Jesus did turn water into wine……….

Cheers to Jesus Shoes!
