Moro ’41 – a Great Italian Wine!

Here is a great wine to try … something a little different then what you can pick up at the local grocery / retail store. This wine is called Moro ’41 and it comes to you again from my friends at MyWinesDirect.com ! With that said, I had to do a little research on this wine… after all a name like Moro ’41 HAS to have a story behind it… and indeed it does! The name of this wine is a tribute to Mr. Armando Spinazzè, whom everyone knows as “Moro”. Mr. Armando Spinazze is the wineries 2nd generation owner … his sons William and Alan currently work with their father as Wine Maker and Commercial Manager. His sons wished to dedicate this label to him to thank him for his continuous support and complete trust in setting up the splendid Santomè estate. This is truly a family run operation from Italy.

I really enjoyed this wine with a nice pasta dish since that was the recommended dish / pairing. The great thing is MyWinesDirect.com has a great lasagna dish receipe on the site. I found this wine to have a peppery aftertaste to it… lots of berry flavors, but definately an after taste… the wine description indicates licorice … mmmm.. maybe?? however, I would say a little warmer of an aftertaste then that. Truly unique and I LOVE the fact that you this isn’t something everyone can try! Something special just for you and those you share it with!
